Robb E Cunningham Jr. is a Clarinet player extraordinaire though having mainly played Saxophone as a sideman with others. Being a very proficient reader he worked hard on his "ears" to work and write with all musicians from Rock to Jazz. He has studied with the better Jazz musicians such as Paul DiMarinis, Gerald DeClue, Will Carter, Joe Lovano, Rufus Reid, Harold Mayburn, Jim McNeely and Jerry Green.|
Robb has attended North Texas State University, Webster College and William Paterson College where he received his Masters in Music Business in the Jazz track.
Robb E. Cunningham Jr. has played with many diverse bands throughout the World and numerous Cruise Lines including, but not limited to,
Carnival, Norwegian, Princess, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Holland America Cruise Lines where he performed with entertainers such as Maureen McGovern, Frank Gorshim, The Platters, The Fifth Dimension, Duke Daniels, Billy Armstrong, Charo and hundreds more.
In St. Louis, of course, he has performed with Blues artists. Such as the Soulard Blues Band, Soul Reunion, Rondo's Blues Deluxe, Buffalo Bob
& The Bedroom Blues Band, Pennsylvania Slim and lots, lots, more!
Pop-Rock groups have included Billy Barnett, Louis Michael, The Eyes, The HardSwingers, Boom, and Michael Schearer.
Jazz artists include, SwingSet, Silk Pajamas, Jeane Kettrell, The Sessions Big Band, The Knights of Swing, and Red Lehr.
Robb's worked with "professional variety" groups such as The Encore Band, Bob Kuban, and Tony Viviano. And lots more!
Robb has finally formed his own group, which can be seen as a Duo to a Septet all over the St. Louis area. He has arranged his own music, which is a modern version of the Dixie Swing era with an emphasis on unapologetic audience appreciation. Challenging music though, which requires the best musician posh. Such as Carl Casperson, Kyle Honeycutt, Tom Byrne, Rob Block, Steve Stuckers, Dave Black, Charlie Siebert, Phil Gomez, Shawn Scales, and Kevin Rauscher & Dave Stone on horns.
